qxxPainting portraits is how this artist began. Portrait painting remains a first love due to a life long desire to gain insight into the human spirit. Portrait artists are ever inquiring students of life, observing what creates a look, posture... The feelings, the spirit of the subject. I invite you to be a part of the creation of your personal portrait as you sit with me with your photos and we discuss the direction of your piece.

"The quality of the photo, is in many cases, the difference between a good portrait, and a good portrait that makes you say, "wow!" My greatest portraits come from great photos. When using non-professional photos please follow these guidelines".

1 - When choosing half or full body poses, please keep in mind facial detail is greatly reduced as more of the body is displayed, a head and shoulders on 12 X 16 may mean a face actually drawn 8 inches wide. Victor recommends using professional photographs.
2 - Victor can add color to a black and white photo, combine people from separate photos into one portrait, add a unique background, or remove a person from a photo.
3 - IAs far as touch-ups, it is very common for artists to do touch-ups on a portrait. You may find small details like eye color, hair length or jewelry that need to be clarified. Victor will touch-up any area to your satisfaction.
